On The Wings of a Dove

On The Wings of a Dove cover

I need sleep but I’m too tired to rest. Desiring perseverance, my body draws into a knot. God mercifully tries to lead me, but my schedule doesn’t permit His desires. So, I rush from one job to another—chasing that squirrel in a round box. My spirit dwindles like the cloudy, rainy weather forming puddles and then floods. I stab at a sense of balance but some things just cannot be grasped, no matter how much you’re convinced it’s possible. It reminds me of poking more holes into a piece of Swiss cheese.

I listen to the rain on the roof and can’t help but think there’s a message, somehow, in its sound. As I try to hear what God wants for me, I remain. A dam restrains the beauty of the shoreline – the very edge we are drawn to initially. Hmm…. is it really worth it? So gracious is His grace that we overlook the obvious signs. We fight to survive instead of going with the flow as an adventurer paddling our way downstream.

A tear comes as I try to understand the complexity of life, and age-old questions stay aloft. Why do things need to be so hard? Even storm clouds eventually break apart to allow rays of sunshine! My chest aches as my spirit reflects Noah’s forecast. Exhausted as the season procrastinates its departure, a welcomed friend has overstayed its invitation.

I stare at the jonquils of life and their smiling faces detect a glimmer of hope. Has God sent them to deliver a message? I pray so! I’ll wait for tomorrow. Maybe then, it will come on the wings of a dove, resonating light at the shoreline of the water’s edge.

On The Wings of a Dove verse

Mixed Emotions

Let us recognize our emotions and bring them to God.

The sun peeks through the ominous morning, lending itself to review the past. With no regrets, life though, has no reverse. It is a bowl of mixed emotions. Turning my back to the bone chilling cold, I can only look forward to a new budding season. I wait for the first vase of cut flowers to pierce the now frozen tundra. Mesmerized, the windsock reminds me of happier times and the sad turmoil of this last year…. a very rocky beginning, just ten months ago, but only God renews our spirits. Now looking out over the frozen sanctuary, I give Him all the glory a mustard’s seed, worth of warmth, can muster.

Mixed Emotions 2

Ordained in my Father’s warmth, love has driven me like a ship at sea in uncharted waters. So, I look back where God protected His spirit in me, never wanting me to lose faith. I see it so clearly now. With two living in holy matrimony on just one income, believe me–the Bible is correct! God protects his creatures at all ends of the spectrum. My soul reminds me of homemade chicken soup, bubbling over with joy. He keeps my spirit filled with miracles from above. Remembering where I was this time a year ago, saddled in prosperity, I thought everything was fine… but God knew differently. I was blinded from truths but my Heavenly Father still protected me from the evilness.

1 Peter 5: 6-8
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion….

How grateful could a person be that God would separate the thunderstorms for a safe passage? Words just cannot explain the true meaning of my gratefulness! It’s only God’s spirit that I give thanks to for the true love I’m anointed with now. So the sun rises in a dreary glare, but the palm trees sway in the summer air. The sand soothes our soiled souls that come together to be God’s chosen people. We all are one in our walk with Him.

EDITOR’S NOTES:

Let us recognize our emotions and bring them to God. Submit your hearts to Him and allow Him to do His work in your actions. God will simply comfort us, reassure us, and remind us we need not fear. Sometimes, He may prompt us to forgive or to ask for forgiveness. But seek Him and share more of your heart through prayer.

Mixed Emotions 3

The Last Dance

God watches the intentions that connects the spirits of the heart and instills hope….

The Last Dance 1

With best intentions, my integrity precedes and daily obligations manifest. Never would I ever believe the twists and curves I’ve been through. My life has now led me down a path of heaven’s way. From the gates of hell to the silver reflections as oceans wash ashore, God has certainly protected the innocence of my heart.

With riches from gifts that cannot be assessed, blessings pour from my writing hand to yours. Wanting to do my best for readers to share, my wealth now lies in God’s hands. In all the years of tribulations and trials, only a couple of bright spots exist in my mind – my son and daughter. My life appears as a child’s chapter story book. And I know many of you can relate.

The Last Dance 4

God watches the intentions that connects the spirits of the heart and instills hope. Though we wait in frustration, our souls hold on to faith. He allows our tough times to happen to test out our dreams before He gives us our gift. It is against all logic that He then places certain people in our lives to carry out His purpose. How can one not be in awe of His works??

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
~ Isaiah 55:9

Personally, in my eleventh hour, hell appeared to be an avalanche of no escaping. Miraculously, God heard my dreams that rang out years before. Saving the best for last, as an old Philco of songs we knew every word to, she waltzed back in for the final dance. A Scandinavian blond, with babes in hand, brushed my conscience with her poise and presence. The embryo of unforgotten love was held on to as the years moved onward.

The Last Dance

As seasons gray and gravity plays games, 20/20 reminisces with bifocals. But the band still plays our favorite tunes. Now embraced, I’m dancing my last years with her! Cheek to cheek, looking into teary eyes, I see dreams of fulfillment.

The Last Dance 2

Pray for your dreams and hopes and see what happens. Share it with me – I would love to hear your story! For it is He that now controls my destiny and yours too. What an awesome God we all serve!

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
~ Matthew 21:22

Related Verse:

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

The Calm

The calm before the storm….

The Calm cover

Perched on a wire high above my newly mowed lawn, two doves enjoy the sun. One faces south, one faces north. Entertained by their posture as I sit on my back porch, I feel a calm as the dawn has come. Thank God for the quiet and the love which has found its way into my heart.

Through times of choppy seas, my little ship took on water. It’s then I prayed for calmer waters as my ship was tossed about. Though I wore my faith like a life jacket, I never looked back at the rising storm clouds. The calm has settled deep in my soul and nothing means nothing if there’s nothing to rejoice about.

The Calm
A dictionary quotes it so well – rejoice is the next word after reject. God has plans of which I cannot see. My tiny ship, now tattered by the seas, lays in port calmly nestled against the pier. Like the doves high on the wire, the gulls congregate to wish me well. Thanking Jesus, I have made it through another stormy week.

It was once said in a sermon that God puts storms in front of us just to see how well we weather. Ever more persistent, I’ll continue my journey as God has so planned. But for now, like a figurehead on my bow, Anne has come to carve the way through the turbulent ocean of critics. My tidy ship, with its fresh coat of white, is ready to set sail.

The Calm 2

Sitting at the helm, my Father is on my right hand and my mate firmly holds my left arm. The dockhand shoves out the bow and we are…off. No more storms. “Just Us” written on the stern, we idle out into the pristine waters.

God, my guiding light and beacon, protect me from hardships yet to come. I pray Father, for the love I deserve. May my written words always bless your Holy messages.

Smooth Sailing!

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

Trials and Tribs

We all claim to have “wisdom” yet it’s the least used word to appear in the Bible.

Trials and Tribs

It’s early Saturday morning and I have a lot to do today which primarily includes making someone happy. But before I start, I give thanks to God just to be able to sit and absorb the quiet. Wandering through the cobwebs that linger from the night, a thought has emerged on a partially cloudy morn. So pondering, I go to recover the stats and now my only question is, why?

We all claim to have “wisdom” yet it’s the least used word to appear in the Bible. Reading on, I ask, why would a word that means having knowledge be rarely used? Further, the Old Testament shows this most influential word of credibility about 166 times and the New Testament around 52 times.

Now perplexed at all the messages related to wisdom, my guess is it is kept in Siloam. Drawing a conclusion is like seeing the sun resonate in the clouds above. Asking for understanding, I seek a higher power. Knowing trials and tribulations are the passages we enter into, I ask for comprehension.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (James 1:5)

Oddly enough, the older of the two Testaments used the word three times as much. Though for all intended purposes, I would think the writings would explore more the creativity of wisdom. There’s no explanation of the lack of interpretation. Feeling a chill from my discovery, I’m wondering where wisdom comes from. It’s certainly not connected to teeth like they were pulled out when I was young. But the trials and tribs we experience gives us all a gift to share.

Trials and Tribs 2

Every morning that I wake, I ask God for the wisdom to make it through the day. Like to study the heavens or a faraway land, I’m reaching to learn or comprehend.

Wisdom, the application of God’s word, is that which gives us common sense and productive choices. It is the beginning and the end of fearing God and thus obedience to His word.

I pray you will be blessed with His infinite wisdom too! As the word “OK” is utilitarian, wisdom is the language of experience in any country.

Related Verse:

Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. … (Proverbs 3: 13-18)

My Friends, My Blessings

Through trials and tribulations, they stood by me, caring and praying for my outcome.

Friends Blessings 2

It’s Saturday morning, the earth still sleeps. But I am awake tending to the memories of my past. I listen to the sounds as the wildlife comes to greet me. Waiting on my first sip of coffee, I thank God for the love my friends have shown me. Through trials and tribulations, they stood by me, caring and praying for my outcome. Though we are all in different situations, we still seem to find time for one another. Tending to my beloved thoughts, God has allowed me the time to carry on.

Sleeping away the sorrows, the pain recedes by night. God, I know, is with me in the morning as I begin to write. I watch the storm clouds that elude above me. Am I strong enough to ward them off? With God’s help, He gives me strength as I sit and enjoy my first cup of coffee.

The serenity abounds, everything is in His will. Patiently waiting, I watch to see His timing. Quietly the dawn shines her light on my shoulder. I watch the reflections of orange light as I write on my cell phone. What a beautiful sight to write in the glow of what once was the still of the night!

Friends Blessings

Yes, being blessed by those who faithfully keep me in their prayers, a chain is created and though I may sleep, I feel the Angels. Quietly reminiscing, memories are all we all have, and the blessing is never forgetting how we came to our present state. Thank you, Mary, my inspiration….the love of God is in you and I thank God as well for you.

Being blessed by my friends, we are all family from one memory or another. I just wanted to share this before I get my day started. Thank you my dearest friends, near and far!
