Code of Ethics

It is where our Lord holds us close and we pray that believing in Him is the right way of life.

Code of Ethics 3

Looking back to my younger years , I never understood life. Why do trees blow in the direction of the wind? Why do the leaves turn in the autumn chill? Why does the sun rise in the east in the early morn? My mother tried to explain that it was the way God intended, long before I was born. I guess she was right. I never questioned what she said, although I never understood. But it was actually the principles of life that she was trying to preach.

2 Peter 1: 3

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence

I grew up fast after Pop passed. Life changed for us. My brother and I never agreed on anything. Respect was a word that was hardly heard but I learned early there was a code. A code to follow…be it God, family, or honoring those you love. But it came with a price. We showered our feelings over the hurts we endured.

All of us learn early in life, somehow, there is a code of ethics we must follow. It is where our Lord holds us close and we pray that believing in Him is the right way of life. We give our hearts to Him as He is our Savior. It gives us direction.

Code of Ethics

Honoring the past and looking forward to the future, we praise our parents and teach the future generations that God is the common denominator of respect. Humbly we give praise…it is our way of life.

God’s eloquence sustains life for all his creations. I’m humbled by His magnificent beauty and shutter at His presence. We give thanks before we partake. Remember, if it wasn’t for His ever presence in our lives, we would remain in the absence of His grace.

Code of Ethics 2

Let us worship His name!

Gallant Valor

texas

It’s Sunday evening….some are about to return to church, some about to sit down for a wonderful dinner; some may be ready to slide back in their recliners to watch the evening news or some football. But let me interject some thoughts….

“God Bless Texas”

These courageous folks…. not the police or military; but the humanitarians who launch their boats on the highways into uncharted waters. They travel rooftop to rooftop, listening for stranded victims. Unless you have been involved in search and rescue as I did, you can’t imagine the danger. The sewers flood out, alligators and snakes, and the mosquitos will carry you off. Then there are the caskets that surface.

Here is where black lives matter! White supremacists could care less what you and the rest of America thinks. This is war friends – Texans against nature’s worst. God is the only entity prayed to here.

You talk about coming together as united people? Well snowflakes, take a lesson – WAKE UP! This is how America was and will always be. People with dignity respecting those with integrity. God bless them!!!

Gallant Valor

By the grace of God, there is no color of race nor ethnic coupe. There are no boastful rednecks. They instead drive for hours to launch their boats on interstates to save those in dire straits.

Praise those who give their time! They leave their families behind to help the survived. They certainly command a medal to commemorate their valiant duty.

God bless them!

Silver Seasons

Our trails of disasters have led us to greener pastures…

In the glimmering shadows, I stare across the way at you. I ask God to allow me the years that we have missed. Lord, explain why two would meet in their prime years, only to reunite as the silver seasons begin?

Silver seasons 2

I could write a book called, “The False Illusions”. Why would two who came together for one week and didn’t know the others’ walk; living a thousand miles apart with children and obligations; never forget each other?? Did God lay the ground work of which two could have never thought? What promises did God stow, although I know…. it was all in His timing. Success is measured by smiles not stress, and now blessings are bestowed.

What greater love than two old, coming together in the name of RESPECT and God anoints their visions! Our trails of disasters have led us to greener pastures; and we have both come to Christ. And where there is His father, no other power can destroy. Our prayers re-unite.

Today, in the bright sunshine, I watch the shadows you create as dreams and missions are one. You’re such a blessing to me! With God’s help, a child is born….an entity for all to see; a star, maybe high above the clouds that He created in the heavens; one that no one else could have ever seen.

In awe, I stand quietly, watching as the trust evolves from truths. A future as infamous as the galaxies, dreams are unimaginable. Only God addresses our circumstances as we remain in faith. And I look at you and think….

We nurture our love as you illuminate my visions and God above blesses the messages. What a joy to have God on my side and you to polish my points of view. It’s like sitting in the shade, enjoying a breeze, with a glass of lemonade on a Sunday afternoon. Nothing in this world would be better to me than you sharing the silver seasons of my life….until we leave and walk in heaven together.

The Sandbox

Our minds are designed to create and build – not to tear down and destroy.

Sitting in the shade, wiping my sweat, the yard is manicured once more. It’s so nice to enjoy the love that comes from looking to God and the beautiful blue sky. I thank Him for another day of gorgeous grace. In my little cul-de-sac, the concrete wraps in harmony; the blacktop sweeps in tranquility. Peace and love rings out in my little neighborhood. God abounds.

Reminiscing in the shade while continuously wiping my brow, I think back to when Kirk and I were little kids. We’d play for hours with our Matchbox toys; building tunnels and roads through the piles of sand in my little sandbox. Pretending to create a life of make-believe, we built a world where the only problem was leaving our toys outside if it rained.

With endless hours of sharing our childhood, we learned to live and get along. I guess we fought once in a while; I don’t remember anymore. But the fact remains, we got along and grew up in normalcy. Our interests grew and changed. Diversified, we lost contact. Some days, like today, I go back and sit on the edge of my little sandbox wishing for those younger days.

Today, I’m watching the parade of demonstrators marching in solidarity. They, I bet, never knew the love of God that grows from life in a sandbox. Our minds are designed to create and build – not to tear down and destroy. Memories are like a keepsake proudly displaying on the living room mantle. Framed pictures that commemorate the way things were, line the hallway. And a crucifix of Christ protects the covenant that God blesses the hearts of passed ones.

I see the innocent demonstrate their acclaimed individual rights. The fore-fathers, before them, fought for those rights. Now the monuments are all but destroyed. That which was commemorated, is now denounced. Ridiculous!

So what time is it….1967??

I’m watching the news…. fifty years too late! I’ve seen this rerun before!

I’m disgusted with the progress we are prospering – in reverse. Let’s go back in time and recreate the joy of God we found in our own little sandbox once more!

Editor’s Comment:

God establishes government to be an authority, and he establishes family to teach the importance of respecting authority.

Loyalty vs. Respect

So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them…..

I sat on a bench watching two teams play. It was so cold my posterior froze to the wooden board of a bench. Bundled against the elements, facing the virtues of nature’s wrath. I could hardly predict the outcome. The teams fought hard, made some good plays and scored some points; but they walked away with arms wrapped around the opposing players. It was the only thing heartwarming on that bitter, brutal Sunday afternoon. The fans, too, huddled their way out of the bleachers. It didn’t matter whose side you were on. Just fighting to stay warm was worth its weight.

As we walked away, it wasn’t so much about who won or who lost. It was the sportsmanship displayed. “Loyalty ( strongly supporting each other) and respect (ability to admire someone for the abilities and achievements) goes a long way when two oppose one another”, I said to the father of one of boys on the opposing team. He smiled, shook my hand and said ” Good game!”. I guess he understood. Happy to be warm from the frigid winter winds, my heart steadily pumped 98.3 degree blood in this minus zero body.

I think about that game every now and then and the camaraderie we felt. I almost wish for a reunion of sorts; call it the coldest respect loyaltygame in Hades!!! But as I stop and tap my pencil eraser on the tabletop, I’ve come to want the same with everyone I know. It’s not just a wife or child but the guy I’m walking out of a stadium with as well. Loyalty and respect go hand and hand; you can’t have one without the other. My heart pales for those that try to live eliminating one or the other. Should I tear into the heartless as they rejoice with the absence of loyalty?  That surely is not respectful.

So tomorrow comes. Will things change? Will God intervene? Will you have patience and understanding? Can you allow the loyalty from love abound? And what about respect? Do you have the same on the scale for a janitor as you do for our Lord? I wonder….
