Seen God Lately?

and Signs of God’s Presence In Your Life….

Seen God Lately 3

In our furious world, we are all set to deadline some thing or somewhere. There’s little time to stop and think about much more than work and family. But my burning question arises, have you ever seen God or felt his presence?  I bet you have and never realized it!

Watching the forecast, you begin to wonder….the winds swirl and rain comes at you with blunt force. Hunker down to protect yourself! Brutal weather is nothing compared to the imagination of Satan. You must realize he will take any opportunity to reign. It seems that gloomy gray and having a bad day coincides in some way. Your disposition and your attitude do seem to parallel with the oncoming shades of gray.

For hours, or maybe even days, we find our souls hibernating as the weary weather penetrates our bones. Then one afternoon the clouds subside and horizontal lines of blue break through. Your heart smiles at last! God has shed His grace over what was once a reign of terror. He calms the weather as if laying His hands upon the stormy seas. Sighing deeply, we now feel His ever-presence knowing only our Father in heaven could bring us this peace.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 29:13

Relaxed in these moments of peace, we grab something refreshing and step outside. Here in His sanctuary, you see His hands raise the sad, droopy flowers from Satan’s reign. Even the birds come out to frolic at the feeder.

Oh yes, God is more present than you’ll ever know. Noticing the swirling winds, you wish you were on His pristine waters sailing out to another port. Lord, what an awesome feeling to know you are right here beside us as we tack! Especially when we need Him the most.

Seen God Lately 2

If you feel God is trying to tell you something, consider He is preparing you for a greater in the future. Embrace it…look closely at it and don’t wish it away. Pray for His divine wisdom in your life.

Signs of God’s Presence In Your Life

Is God talking and you’re not listening or are you not familiar with His messages in your life?  Here are some eye-opening signs that God is speaking and you must pay attention:

God will use people to send you messages. Interested in pursuing something but you’re uncertain? If ordained by God, natural events will begin to occur that gives you the extra push to run with it. Particular people will come to you with encouraging words or information that you need to move into the right direction. People are not placed in your life by accident.

Ever seen a message in the sky by the clouds? Or by birds or butterflies? Allow me to share a personal experience with you. My editor was recently sitting on the back porch and a WILD bird flew down to within two feet of her and began chirping. Thinking they wanted some food, she threw bread onto the ground for them but they didn’t come down to eat it. When she went back to her computer, one of my writings was waiting for her and it turned out to be one of my most popular pieces. Not only that, this piece mentioned birds in it!

Financially broke but money appears “out of nowhere”? Not a stroke of luck….coincidences are from God!

Have you ever been in or saw a death-defying accident but walked out alive? Was there someone mysteriously there that helped but later disappeared when an ambulance arrived on the scene? God’s angels, my friends.

Ever had an uncomfortable feeling or a feeling like you shouldn’t be doing something? God will never lead us to do something that is wrong. There is a sign to find in the turmoil.

Dreams will be very vivid when they are a message from God.

“My sheep know my voice.” (John 10:27)

Where’s The Mentors??

“Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Lying on tWhere's The Mentors 1he living room floor with my coloring book and crayons scattered about, I watched the infamous Mighty Mouse on TV. Though it was only cartoons, the message instilled was a foundation to the rest of my life. The Three Stooges was very entertaining but later I would read the caution signs, “Don’t try these things at home.”

Growing up with Hollywood and the silver screen, we intently watched our favorite programs. We became attracted to the John Wayne’s of our time capsule. When Vietnam broke out, G.I. Joe was kid’s best friend (Hasbro made a fortune, didn’t theyWhere's The Mentors 2?) but the bloodshed toyed in our life’s hardships. So, we ultimately found actors to admire instead. The good guys! Life was simpler when the media wasn’t at everybody’s door step spreading gossip about Who’s Who in their columns.

The greatest part of our younger years was following those of Christian backgrounds. They, too, looked up to others who also devoted their lives to the Lord.

Where's The Mentors 8

We had great sportsmen with integrity too – Boog Powell, Jackie Robinson and Willie Schumacher, to just name a few. Nonetheless, with pride for our heritage, we looked up to them as thoughWhere's The Mentors 4 they were related to Washington, Jackson, and even Francis Scott Key, a Brit, who loved what our flag stood for. They were the founding fathers, the mentors of our great grandparent’s generation; believers in Christ whose values and morals meant more than money.

Hebrews 13:7

Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.

Now, in stark contrast, the children of today wildly waves intergalactic weapons as their mentors do on the TV and movie screen. Their message to save the world is now about “taking someone out.” Riot gear has become the fashion, a presence of destruction….evolution at work. And as history dictates, these “biblical times” display our kids burning down the cities to prove their strength. Archeologists today will spend a lifetime trying to recover the forgotten history.

Where's The Mentors 5

Patrons stand in awe as our children’s mentors kneel in the presence of God to rebuke everything our heritage stands for.

Where's The Mentors 6

Sadly, life is now changing drastically and not for the good. These mentors, rebellions to our way of life, show little respect for our heritage. Their lack of faith in God are NOT examples to young followers. My first thought is, “very little pride”….

God, our Father, has blessed us with peace and grace. He, my friends, is the greatest mentor of all! Maybe it’s time to look up to Him and follow His Holy Word concerning how we are to raise our new generations. Don’t let our confused children be led astray by bad mentors. Give them the greatest gift of life…..God!

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

A Place Of Peace, Thank God

Ecclesiastes 5:19 – “It is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God”.

The Miracle Of Grace

Only God, and his ability to forgive us, keeps the chain of grace continuing on….

What does grace actually look like…..and the miracle of grace?

Psalm 145: 8-9
“The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works”.

Miracle of Grace cover

Standing on the edge of a mountain top, I look across the range. Storm clouds have passed and I’m standing under the blue. Feeling the sun from within, I know God is abounding. Reverently, the valleys are shaded from harm; I can see God’s grace protecting them. What a breathtaking sight! Standing 10,000 feet up, I know everything below my feet is blessed by grace from God’s eternal love. Infinitely, the animals protect their offspring and the balance of power is ultimately His. Even the dead branches serve in His kingdom….a perch for those that prowl.

Oh, but the meanings of grace (biblically called Charis), are far and wide. Grace by itself is a miracle to behold. It may be the birth of a child, the lame walking; a devastating accident and the victims walk away unscathed; a tree slides from a mountain top and lands in a creek right side up yet it still lives for years to come. Disasters happen but we should give God the glory for His merciful grace.

It’s also a miracle that two lost souls may find their way back together again after a lifetime of disappointments – only by His grace, my friend. Everything works out to the glory of God. There’s nothing better than happy endings! Love, by far, is the most powerful gift of grace. We share the miracle of grace tonight.

Miracle of Grace 3

Only God, and his ability to forgive us, keeps the chain of grace continuing on. As the sun reaches to the west, we give thanks for another marvelous day. We pray for those less fortunate….may God’s grace be bestowed upon thee. I thank God for the opportunity to just to sit here and think about the blessings He has brought me- the Grace of His love never-ending.

Miracle of Grace 1

We all are to be so thankful, for God gives grace to those who have faith, are humble, and forgiven. We receive forgiveness according to the riches of God’s grace, and grace drives our sanctification.

Ephesians 1:7
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace”.

I pray for His grace, comfort and protection, like the mountains and valleys do after a fearless storm has passed. God bless you, all my friends!

Hebrews 12:28
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear”.

The Last Dance

God watches the intentions that connects the spirits of the heart and instills hope….

The Last Dance 1

With best intentions, my integrity precedes and daily obligations manifest. Never would I ever believe the twists and curves I’ve been through. My life has now led me down a path of heaven’s way. From the gates of hell to the silver reflections as oceans wash ashore, God has certainly protected the innocence of my heart.

With riches from gifts that cannot be assessed, blessings pour from my writing hand to yours. Wanting to do my best for readers to share, my wealth now lies in God’s hands. In all the years of tribulations and trials, only a couple of bright spots exist in my mind – my son and daughter. My life appears as a child’s chapter story book. And I know many of you can relate.

The Last Dance 4

God watches the intentions that connects the spirits of the heart and instills hope. Though we wait in frustration, our souls hold on to faith. He allows our tough times to happen to test out our dreams before He gives us our gift. It is against all logic that He then places certain people in our lives to carry out His purpose. How can one not be in awe of His works??

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
~ Isaiah 55:9

Personally, in my eleventh hour, hell appeared to be an avalanche of no escaping. Miraculously, God heard my dreams that rang out years before. Saving the best for last, as an old Philco of songs we knew every word to, she waltzed back in for the final dance. A Scandinavian blond, with babes in hand, brushed my conscience with her poise and presence. The embryo of unforgotten love was held on to as the years moved onward.

The Last Dance

As seasons gray and gravity plays games, 20/20 reminisces with bifocals. But the band still plays our favorite tunes. Now embraced, I’m dancing my last years with her! Cheek to cheek, looking into teary eyes, I see dreams of fulfillment.

The Last Dance 2

Pray for your dreams and hopes and see what happens. Share it with me – I would love to hear your story! For it is He that now controls my destiny and yours too. What an awesome God we all serve!

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
~ Matthew 21:22

Related Verse:

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

A Theft In The Night

Cursed, a city can’t get out of the way as nature steers a direct hit….

A Theft In The Night 5

As the gale’s howled and thunder rumbled, torrential rains inundated where fears were so fragile. You laid in bed worrying, wondering, and praying as God was the only one who would hear. Awake, the tears streamed. Feeling helpless, you wondered what the morning would bring. Looking at the clock – no electricity! The world had stopped and Satan reigned. A peaceful night’s sleep had turned into a hell you couldn’t imagine. The night was darker as the pressure closed in…

Preparing for another enjoyable day of work and a sunset cruise on the lake later tonight, I was unaware that a few hundred miles away Satan had unleashed his fury. Cursed, a city can’t get out of the way as nature steers a direct hit. Sympathetic, I listened to the news as a tear comes but there’s nothing I can do.

The phone rang. I answered, “Hey Sam….”

He responded, “Pack your bags! We are heading out in an hour.” My first thought, oh God protect us!

A Theft In The Night cover

By sundown we were the first to arrive on the scene. Now a deserted city, only the traffic lights work. We found a hotel on the outskirts of town where the first floor is flooded. The second floor is bearable; it has water but no electricity. Too dangerous to venture out in the dark, we are bedding down early not knowing what tomorrow will bring.

Day 1:
At daybreak, we knew it was the DMZ all over again. Firstly, and before breakfast, I walk into a hotel. The skylight on the twelfth floor is destroyed; windows in the lobby – gone! Walking on broken glass, there is nothing left worth saving. Staring at the walls, the wallpaper is peeled off by the gales and glass. Walking down the halls, all the offices show how high the waters were recently. Four feet up all the sheetrock and insulation is to be removed by our crews….

Day 2:
House calls, normally illegal…. this is life and death now. Breaking and entering, we look to see if anyone stayed behind. The stench unbearable, perishables ruined, all the memories of livelihood gone in a wrath. Antiques destroyed, soggy scrapbooks scattered on the floor and bookcases are turned over. Just nothing salvageable! Even the toilets are reversed – disgusting. Now, to the next house. It’s pretty depressing after eight hours.

A Theft In The Night

Day 3:
Drained, my disposition is uncomfortable. Not assured of anything, I just want to go home. Knowing it’s not just a race but a race against time, obligations prevail. Innocent victims, who never invited Satan’s hell, needs me…I’m off! Kicking in front doors, wading in water, pushing floating furniture out of my way, we feel for bodies submerged beneath our boots. Alone, we pray to God everyone is okay.

Day 4:
The tide is turning; some electricity, finally! It’s spotty though. Dryer roads, blue sky, and there is a God, I think to myself. Helping strained folks that can only afford a smile, “just sufficient” is enough to make our day worthwhile. People begging for water, I emptied my cooler in the first hour.

A Theft In The Night 2

God knows, it takes a catastrophe to bring people together. Though it’s the most deplorable of conditions, it does bring out the colors of some. Humanity and integrity equals dignity for your fellow man, no matter your race.
After arriving home where normal was real, I prayed for those who will never find their normal they lost again. I hugged my family and reminded them to never take life for granted. Be humble of what God has blessed you with every day…..

God bless all victims of Hurricanes Irma, Harvey, and Maria!

A memory of helplessness…. a war against the elements.

A loss just immeasurable…..
