Friends

Our sincere, lifelong relationships with others are so precious and dear

Friends 2

So, you want to be my friend! Instinctively, we guard our domains in an effort to protect not our hearts, but our souls. There is a place saved for the holiness of spirits that gets invaded by the ill-will of those who call themselves friends. I read your intentions and listen to your body language as it sways on a dance floor. Your lips, nonchalantly, spew out a bible verse to impress…like Romans 8:28. I ask our Heavenly Father, “Where is the conscious mind of people who allow Satan to rule their bodies?” I wonder…. has their integrity taken a vacation?

They are ashamed of themselves, I know, for they used to be servants of God. I listen as they wave their sword as their tongue controls their persona. I pray not for them, but for God to ring their neck in an attempt to remove the corrupt ways from their body.

Colossians 3:25
For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.

The cold morning sun shines through the curtains on the breakfast table, trying to comfort the innocent who are hurt from the night before. But it’s no use…. for only God, through prayer, will consummate relationships between these so-called friends. Like a little child crying wolf, you can’t help those with self-serving intentions. I realize I should pray for their well-being, but my prayers go out, consumed for the meek. They are destroyed by the prey which seems to have strayed from God. I picture in my mind, a vulture–high above the clouds–swirling in the gentle warmth of a sunny breeze; they peer down at the weak, trying to move on…. long after the residue of the attack.

Philippians 2:3
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.”

The scavenger’s victims pick up the remains of what’s left of their pride. Praying to God for their strength to resonate, I react by lending them my hand. My heart goes out to them, just as Christ would want. There’s no mercy where evil lurks, a result from indecisive intentions.

Friends

So I say to those who walk in the shadows of Satan’s thoughts — be careful! Your footsteps are numbered and they will never be seen in the sand. The meek will continue to walk on in the heavenly sunshine, so God help you! To those who’s integrity precedes them, my hats off to you! You are to be commended! Our sincere, lifelong relationships with others are so precious and dear– there’s no price tag you can put on its worth. It appears that the longer I age, the more the value of true friendships, climb. It’s like an investment at Dunn and Brad…. it just keeps rising. Life may appear like a Monopoly board at times, but our hearts are full of joy as we share each other’s lives.

Forest Of Friends

Friends are forever….never let go of the yarn that stitched you together!

Forest of Friends

Morning breaks….the earth comes alive. The roosters first, then a dog barking, and a weary, old cow grazing on the farm. They all concede it’s time to get up as well. Meanwhile, I sit and listen to the stillness asking God to intercede. With aches and pains and life’s normal drama, there’s nowhere to go except to God in prayer. This is where we find peace within all those who care.

I pray for my friends, for where would I be without them. Like an old tree in a forest that, by nature, falls against another saying, “Lean on me if you need support”, and don’t we all? Every now and again, friends, a noncommittal entity, asks nothing in return to come to the rescue of some, like a yielding tree.

But friends, I can only share the love and respect that dwells in the hearts of many, as we all have a slice of dignity that God gives us to share with others. Friends, like trees of the forest, all live in God’s same parish to take care of one another. As branches seem to shade and protect their saplings, we too protect the afflicted. It’s our peers we’ve known for years, and their integrity, that stand like the branches.

forest of friends 2

We….a community, a camaraderie of employees, or graduation class from high school, all bear fruit as we help one another. Our forest of friends….some close, some miles apart, support and honor the memories of growing up. Some relationships are new and need to cultivate, the saplings. The forest….an aroma so spiritual, as God rules where the tree trunks grow.

John 15: 12-15
….This is my commandment: that you love each other as I have loved you. There is no greater love than this—that a man should lay down his life for his friends.

I love my friends. They bring me encouragement and strength. It’s like running a marathon as they stand on the sidelines waving me on. Can you say the same too? There are two kinds of people – leaders and followers. Which are you?

God gives each of us the capability to help one another, not to be a solo act. Friends are forever….never let go of the yarn that stitched you together! (Eccl 4:12) It turns into a tapestry of love for the fellow man you care so much about. By God’s design, aren’t we all about love and kindness? Help one another….like the tree in the forest. It bears fruit to carry the branches of the less fortunate.

Who were the forest of friends in the Bible?

David and Jonathan:  (1 Samuel 18: 1-3)

“After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself. 2 From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family. 3 And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. “

Friends of Job:  (Job 2:11)

“When Job’s three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him.”

Elijah and Elisha:   (2 Kings 2:2)

“Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel.”  But Elisha said, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.”

My Friends, My Blessings

Through trials and tribulations, they stood by me, caring and praying for my outcome.

Friends Blessings 2

It’s Saturday morning, the earth still sleeps. But I am awake tending to the memories of my past. I listen to the sounds as the wildlife comes to greet me. Waiting on my first sip of coffee, I thank God for the love my friends have shown me. Through trials and tribulations, they stood by me, caring and praying for my outcome. Though we are all in different situations, we still seem to find time for one another. Tending to my beloved thoughts, God has allowed me the time to carry on.

Sleeping away the sorrows, the pain recedes by night. God, I know, is with me in the morning as I begin to write. I watch the storm clouds that elude above me. Am I strong enough to ward them off? With God’s help, He gives me strength as I sit and enjoy my first cup of coffee.

The serenity abounds, everything is in His will. Patiently waiting, I watch to see His timing. Quietly the dawn shines her light on my shoulder. I watch the reflections of orange light as I write on my cell phone. What a beautiful sight to write in the glow of what once was the still of the night!

Friends Blessings

Yes, being blessed by those who faithfully keep me in their prayers, a chain is created and though I may sleep, I feel the Angels. Quietly reminiscing, memories are all we all have, and the blessing is never forgetting how we came to our present state. Thank you, Mary, my inspiration….the love of God is in you and I thank God as well for you.

Being blessed by my friends, we are all family from one memory or another. I just wanted to share this before I get my day started. Thank you my dearest friends, near and far!
