On a bright, sunny day, I see so many things that remind me God is not very far away. From the sparkling blue sky where you can see forever the galaxies, to ripples on the water; makes me think God has cast a handful of diamonds across the surface of the seas. The brush strokes of cumulus clouds shed light too and could only be by God himself. If there was a heaven here on Earth, it’s at the edge of tranquility. There is nothing more picturesque than a meandering shoreline that God has created.
So you cast your lines. The dock doesn’t look so big for the seas are calling. The gentle swells and a pod of porpoise follow close to your destination. Anchoring at the first buoy, you inspect the dive gear before you hit the water. Now good to go, you make a splash into the water. The porpoise think you want to play. Off into the deep you glide…..
The reflections of multi-colored coral and even the sand in the salt water are breathtaking. All fish shine in God’s light of day. Diving downward you notice lurking in the shadows, a moray eel hiding in a crevice. The deeper you swim, life changes from happy schools of sergeant majors to the gloom of stingrays and sharks lurking on the bottom of the ocean floor.
As I swam, a thought occurred to me….where God shines, there is peace and joy but in the darkness, evil swarms. Carrying that thought back to the surface, the same applies to people as God shines in the light of day.
Those of unscrupulous values – the Jeffery Dahmer’s and Stephen Paddock’s – they are the thieves of life. Within the absence of God and His light, they lived like Piranhas, attacking with such ferocity.
But God does shine in most – from the flowers and trees to the exquisite sea fans and coral. Love abounds where God reigns. Striving to live as He commands, our hearts become compassionate for our fellowman. You kindly hold the door for the elderly or help a friend that’s in distress. Our consciousness is filled with God’s presence.
There’s a simple test of God shining his light inside humans. Have you ever watched the faces of those you know, the faces that glow? They are full of God’s eternal glory! In contrast, others that exude that look of hatred….well, let us just pray hard for them since they know not what they are missing! God’s love and grace is a peaceful, glorious place to reside!
Physical body signs of glowing in God’s light:
Shiny, healthy hair
Bright, clear eyes
The skin has a physical glow of health due to increased blood flow and circulation.
Clear, shiny nails
Always smiling and little frowning
Relaxed and confident posture
Lips remain soft and supple
Physical body signs of a lack of God’s light:
Jaws remain clenched together, sometimes gritting of teeth
Red neck – sign of enragement
Increase of sweating, particularly on the forehead
Constant smirk or frowning
Stiff posture and lurching as walking.
One visible vein, usually in the neck, that throbs.
Stares at others, quite often with a blank expression
The eyes show very little emotion. Tend to be bloodshot.
Clenched fists or hands
Thank you for this important reminder! xo
