And on the seventh day, God made time for the heavens to rest, receiving the Earth. I struggle out into the bright sunshine; the shades were drawn. Reaching for a cup of rejuvenation, I open the door to take my post. Commanding life as it were, the peace and love has come this morning.
Quietly tending to my thoughts, a visitor with flapping, iridescent wings swarms above me to join in on the aroma. Sitting on the ledge enjoying its nectar, we seem to have a lot in common.
Reflecting on my life like a vase of wilted roses, we were two ships in the night. We never knew God had blessed the curse of our introduction. Now a lifetime later, old and weary, our hearts have reunited. Like a tiny bud emerging, our world has blossomed overnight. My quiet is interrupted as I smell the essence of the past…a sprinkle of stardust from years long gone.
With a hint of wind and a lot of sun, love grows. God has made this day for us to enjoy. I’ll hold your hand and relish in your presence as the nectar of love is revealed in romance. Only God knew our paths were lined with the effervescence from Eden.
Alone I wait for my little hummingbird to meander into the morning light. She will greet me with a kiss on my forehead and I’ll be christened with her love. Like the nectar of the seasons, you have brought me such joy. I pray to God with all the reverence my heart contains, that every day I will wake with the nectar to you.
My budding flower – like an old stem stuck in water, has begun to come alive. Taking root, like a Lily pad, the butterflies surround you. I merely sit by the edge of the pond and reflect on the nectar gone. Thankful for God to light my way, I cast my prayers upon you. I taste my thoughts, pollen is abound, my life complete.
As I reminisce, I only wish you knew the number of vases I would have filled for you if only God had not waited. But as always, His timing has a purpose, that I will never doubt. For now I have the nectar I lost, and I’ll never forget God’s grace.
